Day 4 with the kids
Thursday, and the end of the school week is in sight. Day 4 with the kids was a fairly bland affair.
Not much, in all honesty.
I was in a bit of a mopey mood in the morning. It wasn’t helped by the sheer volume of washing up that the kids managed to get through before leaving the house. After dropping the kids off in a fairly uneventful school run, I couldn’t even be bothered going to Costa, which is reeeeeeally unusual for me.
So I made my way home and jumped online to finish off my parking fine appeal from the day before. Frustratingly the description of “parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours” didn’t really fit where I’d parked, and as there is nobody to talk to, the appeal was more long-winded on my part than it needed to be.
I’m not entirely sure how long the appeal process takes, or whether or not it will be successful, but I’m hopeful that it’ll be a quick and happy ending, fnarr fnarr.
After moping at home for a little while, I had a quiet word with myself and then headed off to Costa.
By the time I’d gotten there, my favourite seat was taken (grrrr!) and then I couldn’t get their wifi to allow me to connect to my blog, though most other sites seemed to work ok. That meant that any plans to work on the blog had to be put on hold.
The afternoon seemed to fly by in a blur or relative inactivity, and although I managed to spend some time on the phone with Mrs DannyUK, it wasn’t long before I was back in the car and picking the kids up.
No phone calls from the school today though, which was good. Aaliyah made the decision to go to a friend’s house after school, which made the trip to Tesco and dinner at home an argument-free zone, as it so often it when Aaliyah and Charisma aren’t together.
The evening was another quiet affair. Perhaps we’ve finally started settling into a routine?
