My Sunday Photo – The Black Pearl driftwood ship
Up on Merseyside, the schools were still off this past week. That meant time spent with the step-kids where we visited The Black Pearl, a driftwood ship on the Wirral.
[wp_ad_camp_2]
The Black Pearl is a ship on the beach of New Brighton on the Wirral. It’s been built by volunteers who form part of the Pirates At Art group.
A nearby sign says simply:
Pirates At Art want you to enjoy this installation.
As it is an open access piece of work we ask you to take responsibility for yourself and those in your care.
Please supervise your children at all times.
The reason that such a sign is needed is because the piece of artwork is big enough to board and quite often will have kids and adults clambering over it.
Local artist Frank Lund and assistant Major Mace embarked on the adventure that birthed the driftwood ship a few years back and the kids love seeing it.
You can see more of The Black Pearl at their official Facebook page.

This looks like so much fun to explore and climb!
How fabulous I love it went artists create something that the public no matter the age get enjoyment from either looking or interacting with a creation.

That’s shocking! You’re a stones throw away lol. It’s well worth checking out. Even as a self-confessed grump, I was impressed.
