Bearded Backchat with Becky from Cuddle Fairy
Bearded Backchat is a chance for me to interview PR people and fellow bloggers. This week it’s Becky from Cuddle Fairy.
Who are you?
Becky O’Haire a/k/a Cuddle Fairy.
What is your “day job”?
I am a full-time mom of three fabulous kids aged 3, 6 & 9.
What is your blog called and where can we find it?
What’s your blog about?
Cuddle Fairy is a positive parenting & lifestyle blog. I write about being a positive parenting, days out with the kids, travel with kids, recipes, reviews, fashion, blogging tips, positive quotes & whatever else is happening!
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging one year ago. I needed a creative outlet & a voice outside my home.
Why do you still blog?
For the same reasons that I started it & I’d like to start monetizing my blog too.
How has blogging changed since you started?
I have got my creativity back! I have interactions with adults every day - yes it’s virtual but the connections I’ve made have been amazing. I have become a more confident writer & member of the blogging community. I’ve made great friends too!
Would you count your blog as a job or something fun to do in your spare time?
I am looking at my blog as a business in the making. I spend a lot of time blogging & am trying to build a solid foundation of links, connections with fellow bloggers & a following.
Where do you get the inspiration to write a blog post?
Honestly, I am constantly inspired! I have a list here of ideas of things to write but I don’t have enough hours in the day to get through them! I take inspiration from everyday life - what we are up to & things just pop into my head.
If you could recommend three other blogs to read, what three would you recommend and why?
This is so hard - I could easily list 100 blogs here that I’d recommend. There are so many amazing blogs out there! These are some of my favorites:
What is the single best thing that has come about as a result of your blog?
My voice outside my home has returned. I had lost a piece of myself but I hadn’t realized it was gone until I got it back. Sounds cheesy but that’s how it is. lol
What would be your perfect blog post?
I’d love to go away to a fabulous destination or go on a cruise for the blog. I adore blogging about our holidays.
What can you recommend to other bloggers to increase the traffic to their sites?
Social media is huge so work on growing a following & post things to your network’s daily. And be outgoing on Twitter! Join in blogger linkys to find new blogs & have others find yours. Joining linkys from my second week of blogging has been a huge advantage!
Which brands do you enjoy working with?
I’ve really enjoyed working directly companies themselves. It’s very rewarding!
I’ve worked directly with The Connacht Hotel, Galway Bay Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Brand Newbies, GCap, Heavenly Tasty Organics, Di Castle Author & so many more - I’ve enjoyed each of these experiences so much & would love to work with any of them again.
Everyone has that one company that they have always wanted to work with but have never quite been able to. Who is yours?
What is your own personal favourite post on your site?
It’s hard to pick but my favorite is my post about our daughter’s hip dysplasia. It has been shared on various health sites & facebook pages. It’s received such a positive response & I’ve received so many thankful comments from parents who felt the same way I did.
Whose blog would you love to be featured on or write a guest post for?
Lastly, if you were to interview another blogger, what question would you ask that I haven’t asked here?…
Lol, I always like to throw in a silly question like do you prefer red or white.. or something like that. My favorite question to ask is one I stole from another blogger’s interview of me (Modern Dad Pages) - If you had a warning sign, what would it say?
… And what is your answer to those questions?
Red is my current fav. And, don’t poke mama bear. 😉
Thanks for taking part, Becky!
