Sixty Word Fiction - Do you have no shame?

Eleven years ago I entered a “Sixty Word Fiction” contest. This was my second entry.
He’d always been a boxer, it was in his blood, but he never knew the competition would be this hard.
It had been a long hard fight, and he’d gone the distance, but as he raised his squashed nose up towards the judges, he knew it had all been worthwhile.
He was finally champion of Crufts.
