Ooooh, an update - a new baby
It’s been a long long time since I updated this blog. A new baby has arrived.
I stopped writing for two distinctly opposite reasons.
Firstly, I didn’t advertise the blog, and wrote in it so little that so few people read it, so I figured it wasn’t worth continuing. Secondly, I didn’t write any more in case someone I know read it. How weird is that? I guess it comes down to that well-known disease, man-itis. (aka laziness).
So, what’s happened since I last wrote? Well, quite a lot. I’ll try and update as much as possible, but that man-itis might kick in, so bear with me.
Oh, and don’t expect any kind of order to the updates!
Mel and I decided to start trying for a baby and fell pregnant at the end of last year. Our baby boy was born on 5th July, at 10.14am weighing 7lb 11oz, and has been a very quiet baby so far. He rarely cries, seems to spend all of his time eating and sleeping (like his dad), and has been well received by his three sisters.
I’ll put a piccie here as soon as I find the time (just about to shoot off to school)
Mel’s getting on fine. She had another Caesarean Section, which is her 5th, but was sterilised at the end of this one, so when we say that he is our last, we actually mean it! The C-Section wound isn’t healing as well as we had hoped, but the midwife gave Mel some tips which hopefully will make it heal better and smell less (don’t ask)
I’ve been off of work for the past two and a bit weeks and am due to go back on Monday. I’ll miss Mel and the kids far more than I thought I would before I started this holiday. Normally the kids (and Mel!) have a habit of driving me insane in a short period of time, but this time around they haven’t been too bad, and even though our middle daughter, who’s 4 next month, has been a little rattier and prone to not doing what’s asked of her than usual, we haven’t had any major fallings out, which is good.
Mel made a comment yesterday that even she’d found me helpful, and was surprised that seeing as I had the three eldest to more or less look after by myself, I’d coped well. It makes a change to being told that I’ve been “bearable” but that she’d “still miss me” Bless her.
We’re off to Bluewater today, which for those who don’t know is one of the biggest shopping centres in the country. Yes, it’s the nineteenth today, which is payday (Yay!). I’ll try and shove another update on here later telling you what else has happened.
