Lottoland: An easy way to play lotteries across the world

Everyone has dreamed of winning the lottery. Everyone. Lottoland make it easy to play lotteries from across the world - You can even continue to play Euromillions for £2 with Lottoland, and even the world’s biggest lottery is available meaning you can play Powerball in the UK too!

Who are Lottoland?

You’ve probably seen the tv adverts for Lottoland with Chris Tarrant. Quite simply, Lottoland allows you to bet on the outcome of the biggest and best lotto draws the world has to offer.

For all intents and purposes, it’s the same as playing the official draw, the difference being that Lottoland takes your bet and pay you if you win. There’s no catch. They are fully licensed by the UK Gaming Commission, which means that they have to prove that they are able to make all required payments to players on all the prizes on offer should they win.

They are also backed by insurance companies to ensure that all prizes are paid out.

Play EuroMillions for £2

You may have heard that the Euromillions tickets are due to rise from £2 to £2.50 shortly.

Because of the unique way that Lottoland is run, they are able to freeze their Euromillions ticket price at £2, giving players great value for money AND allowing them to win exactly the same jackpots!

This is the big plus point for me, as it means I can continue to play EuroMillions without suffering the price increase.

Play Powerball in the UK, or choose The Irish Lottery and more

Because there are so many different lotteries to choose from, I’ve picked my favourite three:

EuroMillions - Everybody should know the EuroMillions. It’s the twice-weekly lottery that the National Lottery are a part of, and often has multi-million-pound jackpots being won.

The Irish Lottery - I’ve played the Irish Lottery on and off for years. There’s less chance to win big, but more chance of winning a small prize. There’s been a few times that I have won hundreds of pounds on this over the years.

Powerball - The Powerball isn’t well known by name in the UK. It’s the American lottery which had the £1 billion jackpot not so long ago!

But Lottoland have lotteries from around the world. A quick glance at the website reveals that there are at least 14 lotteries that you can enter.

How does Lottoland work?

So how does it work? They explain it best on their website, but the basics are as follows.

Lotto Betting is not the same as buying a ticket

In terms of choosing numbers, lotto betting may be the same, but you do not buy a lottery ticket. A lottery operator sells tickets directly, whereas lotto betting is conducted through a separate company, such as Lottoland. Any money you win is paid out by Lottoland, not the official lottery operator.

Lottoland will match the prizes of each tier, including the jackpot, that the official lottery operators pay out as if you had won with an official lottery ticket. Lottoland also matches the other prize tiers too for that lottery draw.

So, for example, let’s say you bet on a lottery, such as the US PowerBall and you guess 5 numbers (but not the PowerBall), this would win you the second prize tier, which is about £34,000. Lottoland will match this prize and pay you the prize money.

Lottoland operates an insurance model, which means that each bet someone makes is insured. Lottoland will pay all smaller wins directly from the revenue they receive from sales. Larger jackpot wins will be covered by Lottoland’s insurance model.

Why not just buy a lottery ticket?

Because Lotto land don’t sell physical tickets they are not limited in the same way a normal lottery is.   It means that their model also gives them the freedom to offer players free bets, special offers and unique features such as Double Jackpot.

It’s also incredibly easy to play.  Once you’ve signed up for an account, which is free to do and quick to set up, you simply deposit some money and choose which games you want to play.
