Christmas Gift Guide for him, for her and for kids

by DannyUK

Following on from last week’s post, here’s part two of my Christmas Gift Guide - Broken down by gifts for him, gifts for her and gifts for children.

In the interest of honesty, the majority of these suggestions have come from things that the kids have requested, bits and pieces I’ve had on the blog this past year, or both. Oh and wherever possible I’ve thrown in a referral link which means if you click the link and end up buying, I get some pennies at no extra cost to you. Merry Christmas all round!

Read part one of the Christmas Gift Guide here.

Ideal for him:

90:10 T-Shirt - £18.00

My recently received 90:10 hoodie has already gone on the missing list, and I’ve no doubt it’ll turn up in the wardrobe of one of the kids. 90:10 doesn’t only deal with hoodies though, and next on my list is a T-shirt from them. A new brand, a fantastic quality of clothing and enough variety to please everyone.

Babyliss for Men 10-in-1 grooming system - £30 (or at Amazon for £20)

Have you ever wondered how I keep my beard nice, neat, trimmed and stylish?  What’s that?  You’ve met me and the beard resembles a small bush, starved of affection and possible home to various bits of wildlife?  Ok, at times it may well do, but when it HAS been styled, this is what I use to do it.

Ten different ways to groom your facial hair and all for a decent price too.  This is a great product.  It holds a charge, it has a place for everything to sit neatly and takes up next to no space on the bedroom sideboard.

Men Rock beard oil gift set - £42.79

Beard oil.  It sounds odd, but if you have a male friend (or a female friend, let’s not be sexist) that is hairy of face, this is ideal.  As Manind put it “Helping to promote clean, strong and tangle-free beard growth, these oils from Men Rock are infused with 100% natural ingredients, including oils of organic argan, jojoba and grapeseed.

Suitable for daily use, the vitamin E oil’s help to moisturise the skin, condition follicles and soften the beard. Boasting spicy wooden scents, this four pack of oils act as a cologne as well as a beard softener.”

In other words, it keeps a beard looking good, feeling good and smelling good!

Ideal for her:

Mooncup - £19.99

Romance. Festive greetings. Cute gifts.  This present meets precisely zero of these three things.  A Mooncup, if you haven’t heard of it, is a reusable menstrual cup made from soft medical grade silicone.  It’s a practical gift, but given that it means there’s never a need to buy tampons again, it’s also a gift that saves you money whilst saving the environment.  Every woman I know that has tried it has loved it. You could argue that it’s not a Christmas gift, but it’s Christmas, so we shouldn’t be arguing at all.

Hotel Chocolat Luxury Christmas Gift Set - £35.00

One of the best chocolate companies in the UK, Hotel Chocolat have a luxury Christmas Gift Set (which they have sectioned under the “For women” tab, so don’t blame me!).  Featuring this year’s delicious Christmas chocolates, Butterscotch Puddles, the Dasher’s Dream slab, a Hazelnut Bûche and 6 Christmas Eton Mess truffles, it’s as tasty as it is well-received.

Ideal for kids:

Star Wars Rebels Command Versus Pack: Endor Attack - £15.99

My 8 year old son is not a massive Star Wars fan.  However, I got him one of these recently and he absolutely loved it.  When my seven year old step son gets something similar over Christmas, being the Lucas-film obsessed little boy that he is, I can well imagine this will be a great present for him too.

Personally, I’ve never seen the appeal of Star Wars.  I appreciate that as a man in his mid-30s I may well the be only man of my generation to say this, but I only got round to watching the first couple of films (that is the original two rather than the fourth and fifth films which were, in fact, the first and second in the saga) about four years ago.  I do know that everyone else loves it though.  Therefore, this is another great gift, especially as it includes 12 Star Wars figures and vehicles.

BOOMco Rapid Madness - £25.00

I got one of these in the Summer and it is a ridiculous amount of fun.  You can read the review here, but rest assured it kept a grown man in his mid-30s and four kids aged between 8 and 13 fully entertained for ages.  It has rapid fire, doesn’t need batteries and it’s easy to use - Not only is it great fun but it doesn’t hurt when you get hit either!

Ideal for me:

Costa gift cards – £5+

Lastly, but by no means least. If you want to buy me something, rest assured a Costa gift card will be well received, and definitely used!
