Sixty Word Fiction - The Sack
Eleven years ago I entered a “Sixty Word Fiction” contest. I’ve liked the idea of it ever since. This is a new story:
“I got the sack today,” said Terry cheerfully, “after just two days!”
“That’s brilliant!” In five years of marriage Janet had become accustomed to Terry being out of work for long periods.
She was genuinely happy. After all, when the Post Office employed him, they said it would be at least a week before he got his own delivery round.
